Pamela Kay was born under the grace of blue spring skies and evergreen trees in Springfield, Oregon on June 9, 1956 and lived out most of her adult life in Coos Bay, Oregon. A bright spirit, she danced all through the tapestry of life until March 15, 2024, when she passed in her home in Medford, Oregon surrounded in the love of her three daughters.
Pam, a daughter of Carolyn and Robert Everetts Sr., grew to be a creative woman with boundless spirit. Her siblings, Lynn, Bob, and Scott, and their spouses and children whom she fostered intentional and close relationships with, shared in her life’s journey. Her love and wisdom continues through her beloved daughters, Brianne, Mykka, and Karlee, and further in the hearts of her cherished grandchildren, Alyrian, Broc, and Lahti Lou. Each of these souls a testament to her boundless love.
Pam’s zest for life was not confined to here professional endeavors. She reveled in the joys of live music, her feet awhile in dance. Rhythm & blues, rock, soulful singer-songwriters, it didn’t matter as long as there was a glass of wine in her hand, her toes in the grass and a toe-tapping groove. Thrilled by travel, her soul found respite in the embrace of the beaches, where the whispers of the waves spoke to her. She treasured a “sip and nosh” with the ladies, her home was ever a haven of hospitality, brimming with laughter and the warmth of a full house. The flutter of hummingbirds brought her simple delight and she was a mistress of the crossword puzzle, each word a conquest of her keen mind. We will always think of Pam when a classic black & white movie or period piece comes along and we’ll carry her with us when we travel to distant lands.
Her passion for community projects was as fervent as her love for life itself. She lent her talents to many organizations including the United Way of Southwestern Oregon Board and the Oregon Pacific Bank Advisory Committee. Lending her time with an equal amount of love and care as she brought to all parts of her life.
To speak of Pam is to speak of a woman who was the very embodiment of spirit, creativity, and intelligence. Most would agree that there aren’t words to truly express the elegance that Pam brought to life. Complimented for her style, people stayed for her magnetic personality and compelling laugh. Her life was a sonnet, each line a testament to her indomitable spirit and the love she bore for all. Though cancer may have quenched the flame of her earthly existence far too suddenly, the light of her being shall continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her and in the countless lives she touched.
Pam’s story is not one of lamentation, for she wouldn’t want us to cry for her, but rather a celebration of life lived with unbridled passion and purpose. Her legacy is etched in time, a narrative of a woman who embraced the world with open arms and left it richer for her presence. And so, with fond remembrance and hearts aglow, we bid adieu to Pamela Kay, a soul of such rare grace that even the stars might envy her brilliance.
